Defeating a team three times in a season is considered one of the more difficult feats to accomplish. Payton found that out on Tuesday night as Northside extended the Grizzlies to three sets before the Mustangs’ run ended with a Payton 21-25, 25-21, 25-19 win in a semifinal matchup at the Class 3A Westinghouse Sectional. If the seventh-seeded Eagles had any anxiety coming into their Public League quarterfinal matchup against second-seeded Northside, one wouldn’t be able to tell.
