North Shore Country Day takes time, stops Latin with late goal

WINNETKA – For most teams in this girls soccer season, the pitch has been a place they’ve competed against other schools for more than three weeks now. That was not the case for North Shore Country Day.

The new-look Raiders debuted their season with a match against conference rival Latin more than 700 days since they last played in the state championship game at North Central College on May 25, 2019.

Latin rally ties North Shore Country Day

WINNETKA – North Shore Country Day came into its first matchup with Latin on a roll. After dropping its season opener to Lake Forest Academy, the Raiders won eight-consecutive games, including five Independent School League contests, and outscored their opponents 46-3.

North Shore Country Day put up a crooked number on the scoreboard against the Romans, but a different result would follow.

Coming off of its seventh straight Regional title, Latin was looking to take it one step further and make the sectional final. The Romans accomplished their goal, defeating Gordon Tech 25-11, 25-22 Tuesday in the Class 3A Westinghouse sectional semifinal on Tuesday. Continue reading
