About Me

I first tried my hand in the journalism world in the fifth grade at St. Juliana School. As young as it sounds, I knew from then on that I wanted to end up in the media world and this was seen throughout my high school and college years, as I wrote for student newspapers at both.

In my fourth year at the University of Missouri, I began my time at the Athletic Media Relations office and that started what was the two most fun years I’ve arguably had. Those two years introduced me to a totally new aspect of the media and helped me understand things from both the PR and the journalist perspective.

Since I graduated from Missouri, I have worked at the <em>Chicago Sun-Times, covering high school games, writing features, editing stories as well as inputting stats and scores into different programs and at 120 Sports, an all-digital sports network, working on the company’s App team. There, my colleagues and I created all of the information that you saw while the show was airing and what is on the Videos on Demand.

Most recently, I was the sports editor for 22nd Century Media’s Wilmette Beacon, Winnetka Current and Glencoe Anchor newspapers, covering Loyola Academy, New Trier High School, North Shore Country Day School and Regina Dominican, as well as a host of other teams and topics.

While a sports editor at 22CM, I won the National Newspaper Association’s Best Sports Story award in 2016 for a story on local Olympian Conor Dwyer. Two of my co-workers and I also hosted a weekly podcast for the past two years about the goings on in North Shore sports.
