Riding a 15-game winning streak, Pritzker continued its run with a 36-6 win over Golder Saturday at Winnemac Stadium.
Abdullah Alghazali rushed for 179 yards and scored all of Pritzker’s five touchdowns on 22 carries.
“We do feel a lot of pressure with the winning streak, knowing that other teams are gunning for us,’’ said Alghazali. “It’s still pretty cool to be a part of it,’’
Golder was able to stop the Jaguars (7-0, 4-0 Inter-City 3) on its first drive before Alghazali was able to take advantage of great field position that gave Pritzker the ball at the Golder 10-yard line. The senior fullback punched it in from the 6-yard line four plays later.
Alghazali scored on a nine-yard run to make it 12-0 before Daniel Matias connected with Xadrien Molina on a 15-yard touchdown pass, cutting the Pritzker lead to 12-6 at the half.
“Our boys played really hard in the first half and executed,’’ said Pritzker coach Tom Mulder. “Our coaching is what prevented us from having more points. I made some calls I shouldn’t have.’’
After Pritzker intercepted a Golder (2-5, 1-3) pass on the fourth play of the second half, Alghazali scored from 14 yards out and essentially put the game out of reach.
But it wasn’t just the Jaguar offense that was getting the job done. The defense forced six turnovers, including three fumbles.
Alghazali also scored on runs of 14, 24 and four yards in the second half.
Matias completed 10 of 22 passes for 58 yards for the Panthers.
