An opening kickoff return for a touchdown that was brought back for holding was not enough to hold back Senn as they went on to defeat Prosser 38-0 Thursday afternoon at Winnemac Stadium. Quarterback Quinell Johnson accounted for four touchdowns (three passing and one rushing) for the Bulldogs (5-0, 3-0 Big Shoulders).

Senn got on the board early when Johnson connected with Joshua Thomas on a 19-yard touchdown. The score was the first of four consecutive for the Bulldogs, as they rushed out to a 30-0 halftime advantage. A 25-yard reverse by running back Cody Gillard (13 carries, 72 yards, four catches, 123 yards, two touchdowns), an 11-yard Johnson run and a 48-yard screen to Gillard accounted for all of the first half scoring. The screen to Gillard was set up by a recovered onside kick.

“I had to come out and play my best,” said Johnson. “I knew we have to keep on track, especially if we want to be as good as we can be.”

The Bulldogs last score came on a 42-yard pass from Johnson to Gillard on the first play of the drive late in the fourth quarter. Senn has outscored its opponents 258-16 through five games this season.

“It’s all about practice,” Johnson said. “We are as good as we practice [in regards to the large point totals].”

The Falcons (1-4, 1-2) had their best drive thwarted in the end zone by a Senn interception. Trey Jordan led Prosser with 24 carries for 53 yards.
